The Happiest Place…
Another year, another trip to Disney.
Yes, I admit it. We go to Disney just about every year. It is a place the rest of my family likes to go and I go to spend time with them. Sometimes we are able to meet up with other friends and family there, which makes the trip much more pleasant, but it is still not my first choice when I think of a vacation. Whenever we start planning and buying tickets I am always flabbergasted at the sheer cost of going to Disney. It seems that the cost has gone up significantly over the last few years and they have eliminated some of the previously included offerings. The 2 that come to mind are the bus that used to take us from the airport to the resort and the removal of express passes, which allowed you a few fast lane reservations each day. They did however add a new “pay to play” Lightning Lane feature that lets you make per person ride reservations for a fee.
As of 2022, the cost to take a family of 4 to Disney World on a 5 day park hopper plus pass is over $2600. This does not include, food, lodging, or parking, which can quickly get you to around $10,000. The funny thing is, the parks are still packed and the hotels are still full so it does not look like the demand will go down anytime soon.
So, I do try to make the best of the trip and have found that Disney is a great place for street photography. There is always a lot going on and there are some very interesting people. I am not sure what it is about Disney, but people go all out and dress up. Then there are others that are dealing with exhausted kids and just do not look “happy”. I have been doing this for a few years, so have accumulated quite a collection of photos. I am not sure what I will eventually do with them. Maybe I will eventually make a book. Only time will tell. Until then, here are some of my pictures.
